Just in time for summer, (or if you live in a tropical place like Singapore) here are my some of my new-found beauty products from the brand GLOSSIER.
I’ve mentioned before that clear skin is one of my ultimate goals for 2017 and thank goodness I found The Ordinary skin care (full review here) because I can already step out with just a sunscreen & tinted moisturiser. I’m slowly parting ways with my full coverage foundations & welcoming lighter face products like this Perfecting Skin Tint.
PERFECTING SKIN TINT
Let me say that this is not a foundation because it has NO COVERAGE. This product basically evens out your skin tone and leaves a dewy effect on the skin.
The breathable, ultra thin formula auto-fits to skin, making application as simple as throwing on moisturizer.
– Glossier
Despite the lack of coverage, this really works for me especially when out under the sun, say going to a theme park or beach. Plus, I no longer have to think about the cakiness or if a part of my face will be rubbed off by sweat.
The Perfecting Skin Tint comes in 5 shades – Light, Medium, Dark, Deep, Rich
STRETCH CONCEALER
Glossier’s concealer reminds me a lot of the NARS’ new Soft Creamy Concealer that I just purchased weeks ago. Both comes in a pot but I find Glossier’s to be more emollient compared to NARS’.
On the other hand, you’re getting more product from NARS Soft Cream Concealer (0.21 oz / 6.2 g) than Glossier’s (0.17 oz / 4.8 g).
The Stretch Concealer also comes in 5 shades – Light, Medium, Dark, Deep, Rich
At this point, I can’t tell which one I like better because I haven’t tried the Stretch Concealer long enough to decide but so far, I got no issues with the product. I like it best under my eyes then set it with a translucent powder.
CLOUD PAINT – Seamless Cheek Color
The pillowy, gel-cream formula is designed to be the most user-friendly cheek color in existence. It’s seamless, sheer, and buildable.
Inspired by gradient pink NYC sunsets, the shades are optimized to work across a wide range of skin tones for a healthy, flushed-from-within glow.
– Glossier
And because I’m such a blush girl, I can’t stay away from these! I added these two shades to my current cream blushes (Charlotte Tilbury’s Norman Parkinson Colour of Youth & Mac x Chris Chang in Peony).
Cloud Paint’s formula is lighter compared to Charlotte’s & MAC. Though it’s less intense, it won’t fail to give the cheeks that natural, healthy flush. It’s lovely!
When I tested Dusk, it wore a good 4 hours on my cheeks before it started to disappear. But don’t worry because you can always reapply it if you wish to, especially if you’re also reapplying sunscreen.
The Cloud Paint blush comes in 4 shades – Dusk, Puff, Beam & Haze.
BOY BROW
We’re inspired by healthy, face-framing brows and consider brow grooming the last crucial step to heading out into the world: brush your teeth, brush your brows, and then maybe brush your hair.
– Glossier
Boy Brow has been on my list ever since I discovered this brand and now that I have in on my hands, it kind of reminds me Benefit’s Gimme Brow.
The creamy wax formula is inspired by traditional hair pomade for soft, flexible hold that doesn’t stiffen or flake. Comes in four shades: BLOND, BROWN, and BLACK boost brows with an oomph of color, while CLEAR gives you the same soft, conditioning hold minus the pigment.

(L-R) Benefit Gimme Brow & Glossier’s Boy Brow
These items may look the same but they got major differences:
SHADE
- I got Gimme Brow #3 & Boy Brow in Brown and I noticed that Benefit is darker compared to Glossier’s.
SCENT
- Glossier is scent-free while Benefit has a weird, chemically scent.
PRICE
- Gimme Brow – 12 – 24 USD / 21 – 42 SGD
- Boy Brow – 16 USD / 35 SGD
BALM Dotcom
Last on my Glossier haul is their flavoured balm and of course, I got the mint.
This balm can be used on the lips, cuticles & elbows and it leaves a cool feeling on the skin.
Key Ingredients:
Mint Flavor Smells like a fresh start: strong mouth wash, crisp morning breeze, and a fully-charged phone—plus menthol for a tingly, cooling sensation.
Castor Seed Oil A natural plant extract, the thick emollient has unique water-binding properties that keep moisture locked in.
Beeswax A natural emollient which acts as a protective barrier.
Cupuacu Fruit Extract An organic, long-lasting moisturizer with Omega-6 and Omega-9 fatty acids that melts into skin on contact.
Rice Bran & Rosemary Leaf Extracts Antioxidants to combat free-radical skin damage.
LOOK BY GLOSSIER

I have an oily skin so I used Natasha Denona’s Japanese Pressed Powder on my T-Zone to set my face; I also used ND’s Sculpt & Glow for a subtle contour & Soleil Tan De Chanel for some bronze.
VERDICT
This Glossier haul is definitely a win and I got no regrets, whatsoever. If I were to have a minimalist beauty stash, these items will be included. If your main goal is to show the real skin or do a super minimal look a.k.a no makeup makeup then you should try the skin tint, then some Cloud Paint blush.
The only downside of the skin tint is the lack of SPF so you have to apply your sunscreen before using it or maybe mix them. Unlike the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser that’s like an all-in-one thing plus it got some coverage.
PRICES:
- Perfecting Skin Tint – 26 USD / 50 SGD
- Stretch Concealer – 18 USD / 38 SGD
- Boy Brow – 18 USD / 35 SGD
- Cloud Paint – 18 USD / 36 SGD
- Balm Dotcom – 18 USD / 25 SGD
This brand is not available in Singapore and as of this time, they’re only shipping to the US & Puerto Rico. I purchased my items thru SmitheryLittSG.
