Boho Bride Makeup Look

I want to greet the last month of 2015 with an attempt to create a Boho-inspired bridal makeup.

Aside from the holiday season, December is also one of the favourite months for weddings and so if you are a bride-to-be, here is a simple look that you can do for your prenup shoot or on your wedding day.🙂

Makeup of the Day

Skin Preparation:

I started with SIMPLE’s Kind to Skin Light Moisturiser then applied the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer on my face. I also used the SEPHORA Pearl eye mask to brighten my eyes. For colour correction, I use BECCA’s Under Eye Brightening Corrector and MUFE’s Cream Camouflage (Green) for the redness.

Face (Base):

For my foundation and concealer, I used my favourite La Prairie Skin Caviar Concealer Foundation. Then I used Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder to set my face and the areas where I applied concealer.

Eyes- Details

For my eyebrows, I used 4 products:

Step 1: Brushed the Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Eyebrow Gel on my brows.

Step 2: Then, I used Benefit’s Precisely, My Brow pencil to outline & shape my brows.

Step 3: With the use of a liner brush, I filled in my brows with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade in Medium Brown.

Step 4: Lastly, I used the brush of the Anastasia Brow Wiz (Medium Brown) to blend all the products and make sure that there’s no unwanted space.

Eyeshadows Used:

I started with Laura Mercier’s Eye Basics Eye Primer in FLAX then used several shades from Anastasia Beverly Hills’Modern Renaissance Palette, Natasha Denona Star Palette and Makeup Geek Cosmetics.

Though I’m doing a boho-chic inspired look, I wanted to keep it whimsical and dreamy at the same time. So I stick with the usual bridal colours which are mostly pinks, mauve and browns.

Base shade

  • Tempera (ABH Modern Renaissance)

Transition shades

  • Cinderella by Makeup Geek

Crease

  • Cupcake by Makeup Geek

Outer Corner

  • Buon Fresco & Antique Bronze by ABH Modern Renaissance palette

Inner corner

  • Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop in Honey Bunny

Center of the Lid

  • Starry Eyed by Makeup Geek followed by Natasha Denona’s Galaxia 112K from her Star Palette (sprayed with MAC Fix+)

Eyeliner:

  • I used Charlotte Tilbury eyeliner in Barbarella Brown on my lids for a soft look.
  • Then, to open my eyes, I used NARS Larger Than Life Eyeliner in Rue Bonaparte on my waterline.

Contour & Highlight

I picked up my favourite Kat Von D Shade & Light and used Benefit’s Hoola for my  bronzer. On my cheeks, I tried combining Hourglass’ Luminous Flush Blush and Charlotte Tilbury ‘s Love is the Drug to achieve the gradient but soft effect.

To highlight the high points of my face, I chose Urban Decay’s Afterglow in Aura and used it on my cheeks towards the ear, bridge of the nose and arch of the brows.

As you know, I have my struggles when it comes to falsies because I’m wearing glasses. I tried using one for this look but it didn’t turn great so I decided to have my real (but, oh so short) lashes instead and applied It Cosmetics’ Superhero Mascara.

And to blend and lock everything, I used Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Skin-Perfecting Micro-Powder.

Lips

I chose Anastasia Beverly Hills’ liquid lipstick in Lovely and outlined my lips with Kylie Jenner’s lip liner in Posie K. Then I used Jouer’s Skinny Dip as my lip topper.

For the final step, I sprayed MAC Fix + on my face.🙂
